The story of a photo 4
My current overarching photographic intention is to create expressive photos. I am responding to Aristotle’s belief that, “the aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” In terms of the art of photography then this leads me to create ‘expressive photos’. Photos that have some significance to me. They do not just represent what they are, but often allude to something felt or experienced, either in my world now and/or whilst I composed the photo.
This photo is an example of the former. It is influenced by my current experience; the paradoxical pandemic situation we find ourselves in and the artistic crossroads I find myself at. I could ramble on about this for hours, and perhaps that would help me, but it may just bore you. So, instead I will leave you with the photo and ask you if it speaks to you in anyway?
